The Nuvia HFC monitors use plastic scintillators which allow simultaneous measurements of alpha, and beta/gamma radiation. These detectors are more sensitive than gas filled detectors. These detectors are also more ruggedized, in case of a foil rupture the foil can be replaced by the user.
