The Horacio Oduber Hospital in Aruba was already using the Sentimag Gen 2 system. During our visit, the new Gen 3 system was used for the first time in the region. During this introduction, Magseed was also used for the first time in the hospital to locate tumors.
With the introduction of MagSeed , placing a wire is no longer necessary to locate non-palpable tumors. This improves patient comfort and offers greater flexibility in healthcare and operating room scheduling.
On Sint Maarten, a full-scale introduction of MagTrace and MagSeed took place at the Sint Maarten Medical Center. This covered the entire magnetic process for sentinel lymph node detection and tumor localization.
Magtrace is used as a tracer to identify the correct lymph nodes. MagSeed makes it possible to accurately mark tumors prior to surgery. This is a major innovation in healthcare and offers breast cancer patients a much more patient-friendly process during treatment. The training covered the application, workflow and collaboration within the treatment team.
The training sessions took place at the Horacio Oduber Hospital and the Sint-Maarten Medical Center. PI Medical participated directly to gain knowledge and exchange experiences. Special thanks go to both hospitals and partner Mederi for the organization and guidance. Frank Curiel played a key role in this and led the team throughout the program. The sessions provided insight into the application of Endomag products in daily practice and allowed for in-depth discussion and questions.
