LAF cabinets
Our high-quality LAF cabinets provide a safe working environment for handling radioactive materials. These cabinets are designed to meet the specific needs of hospitals and medical institutions, with safety, sterility, and ergonomics as top priorities. Read more about the features and characteristics of our LAF cabinets below.
What is a LAF cabinet?
A LAF cabinet – or Laminar Air Flow cabinet – provides a sterile working environment for handling radioactive substances. In hospitals, LAF cabinets are used for purposes such as the manual preparation of injectable doses of radioactive substances for patient treatment.
Safety and sterility
The work area in the LAF cabinet remains sterile thanks to laminar airflow and an optional antibacterial UV lamp. With GMP Class A air purity, our cabinets meet the highest standards for handling radioactive substances. In the event of a dangerous situation, the LAF cabinet emits an alarm signal that is also displayed on the accompanying LCD screen. This allows healthcare professionals to carry out their work with complete confidence.
Shielding configurations
Our LAF cabinets are available in various shielding configurations, ranging from 5 to 50 mm Pb (lead). The entire cabinet is encased in lead and sealed with a sliding lead glass door. This complete encasement minimizes the dose outside the LAF cabinet.
